The Voice Behind the Curriculum
Rayford L. Johnson spent his career on the front lines of the California correctional system — and he has turned that hard-won experience into a curriculum built to transform lives from the inside out.
A retired Correctional Counselor for the California Department of Corrections and a certified gang specialist, Johnson has spent decades studying criminal thinking patterns, gang culture, and the road to real redemption. He did not learn this from a textbook — he learned it face-to-face with the men and women society had given up on.
He is the author of five books, including Thug Mentality Exposed, Greek Letter Exposed, How to Renew Your Mind, Demon Mentality Exposed, and Redemption of a Rogue LAPD Cop — each one drawn from real cases, real conversations, and real change. That same depth of experience is woven into every lesson of this curriculum.
For over 12 years, Johnson has served in prison and jail ministry as a volunteer chaplain, and he currently leads ThugExposed.org, an organization dedicated to gang and inmate outreach. He also serves as Associate Pastor and Instructor at RC House of Prayer Ministry Training Center, and has been a court-ordered instructor in anger management, domestic violence, and parenting classes — taught both in the community and inside county jail facilities.
